My name is Jim Jordan and I am a Family practice physician in Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. I came in contact with EPA shortly after completing my first year of my family practice residency in 2003. They had several moonlighting opportunities in the surrounding Omaha area including Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska. These opportunities included working in small town Emergency rooms.
I have personally worked in Harlan and Red Oak, Iowa's Emergency rooms and was treated extremely well by all of the staff, nurses and physicians making the time that I spent in their ER's much more tolerable. The EPA staff has been extremely helpful in finding moonlighting hours for me during residency and now while I'm in full practice, they allow me as much or as little time as I want to work with no pressure. This has to be one of the main reasons that I have stayed with EPA over the past few years as a couple of their competitors weren't as understanding and pressued me over and over again with pages, phone calls etc. to get me to cover days that I had already said no to. This has never been the case with EPA.
There has never been a problem with payment of services while working with EPA and they were always helpful with any other financial issues and in helping make the work sites better by always listening to my suggestions.
To conclude, I have been very happy and impressed with EPA and hope to work for them on a part time moonlighting basis for a long time to come....or at least until I get my own kids through college and pay off my own student loans. EPA's moonlighting opportunities make an excellent way to either stipend your own current income or as in my case, allows me to pay off my student loans and my kids college tuition in a timely mannor with little added stress.
Thanks EPA for supporting me over the past 3 years!
