EPA has a reputation of providing quality Emergency Medicine staffing for nearly 40 years. Whether you need full-time or part-time coverage EPA provides quality physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants at a reasonable cost. EPA takes the hassle out of staffing your ER. No last minute credentialing, no open shifts, no harassing calls to your medical staff, no worries! EPA takes care of it for you!
My experience with EPA has been overwhelmingly positive. The people at EPA are customer-centered and easy to work with whether simply filling an open shift on the schedule or resolving a major problem. I can pick up the phone and talk to anyone in the company at a moment’s notice… EPA management, physicians and staff are dedicated professionals who have the same interest at heart as we do: providing excellent clinical care and customer service to the patients who choose Boone County Hospital for emergency healthcare services. I recommend EPA without hesitation or reservation. You won’t be disappointed.

I have worked for three different companies in Iowa over the course of my five year residency. Once I started working for EPA 2 1/2 years ago my life got much simpler. EPA has been wonderful about scheduling me for shifts that work well with my busy general surgery residency. They are also polite about contacting you to work. If you tell them that you can't work on a certain day they respectfully honor that and avoid bothering you unlike other companies. Lastly, I feel they set there base rate per shift higher than other companies which is absolutely great. I have everything positive to say about working for EPA.

Managing an emergency medicine practice is challenging. However, EPA does so with an expertise and attention to detail uncommon in the emergency contract agency world. The staff and systems at EPA get my highest praise!

I have really enjoyed working with EPA. I have had experiences with several different ER staffing companies and EPA has by far been the best at meeting my needs. They have a wide variety of opportunities from low to high volume ERs. As a resident in training it has helped me to develop my acute care skills and has given me increased opportunities to perform invasive procedures and manage critically ill patients. The pay is very reasonable and exceeds their competitors. One of the things that I appreciate the most is that I don’t feel pressured all the time to pick up extra shifts that would take me away from my family. I look forward to continuing to work with EPA in the future as I complete residency and go on into private practice.

When I was in my family practice residency, moonlighting gave me valuable experience. It helped me gain confidence in my clinical skills, and it helped me learn how to manage patient flow in a busy emergency department. (The extra income was also nice.)
I enjoyed family practice but due to a family situation and time demands I made the switch to full time emergency practice almost six years ago. I gained more control over my time while still retaining the kind of practice I enjoy. Working in small communities has the feel of family practice because I work with the same colleagues and I often know the patients I see in the emergency department.
Moonlighting is great for experience and it is an opportunity to consider full time emergency practice as a career option for you.
